Roads blocked
Roads were blocked at various places in Bihar. Also, Patna schools were closed.

Bandh disrupts normal life
Normal life was thrown out of gear in Kolkata on Monday with air, rail and road services disrupted due to the Bharat Bandh called by Left and BJP-led NDA to protest hike in fuel prices.

All closed
Shops and business establishments downed shutters. Government offices and banks reported thin attendance, reports said.


BJP activists on Monday blocked traffic, Metro and suburban rail services in Delhi.


Schools, colleges, many private offices remained closed in Maharashtra, but the city's lifeline - suburban trains and BEST - were partially affected as attempts were made to stop their operations in different parts, mainly by suspected Shiv Sena activists


Rail services were also affected as bandh organisers stopped trains for a brief period at Howrah station.
