By now, we all know that ace director Mani Ratnam's most ambitious project Raavanan (Raavan in Hindi and dubbed in Telugu as Villain) will grace theatres worldwide on June 18, 2010. Meanwhile the latest buzz is that Big Pictures and Madras Talkies have sold the overseas screening rights of the film to London-based Karunamoorthy of Ayngaran International while the Hindi version is distributed by Reliance Big Pictures itself. In Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Pictures and Dhyanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine has reportedly approached Big Pictures and Madras Talkies to acquire the release rights, but the producers are not willing to sell the rights for anything less than Rs. 50 crores (Tamil Rs. 35 crores and Telugu Rs. 15 crores). There are also reports that the film will be released by Big Pictures and Madras Talkies in South India.
