Football in South Africa

FIFA World Cup 2010 Schedule and Fixtures- Is the 2010 World Cup doing damage to our environmentFIFA World Cup 2010 Schedule and Fixtures: South Africa is about to receive millions of football fans doing crazy antics to show their love for football. There is nothing wrong to receive guests in your homeland. But the alarming fact that has been recently released is an eye opener for all of us. This grand event will usher in 2.7 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
Researchers believe that the main reason why such large quantity of CO2 emission will take place is probably the distance that marks South Africa from Europe, the latter being the hub of soccer crazy people.
All the football fans need to reach the destination by flight alone. However, authorities are trying their best to make tourists aware of this grave problem.
Solar panels have been installed on traffic lights and billboards in all the 6 host cities of S.Africa.
Information will be distributed amongst tourists on the best environmental choices they can make during their stay in South Africa.
We are concerned. Let’s make this a success!
